Day 3 – Leh to Warila (Shakti Region)
After an early breakfast, drive towards Warila Pass (17,500 ft) via Sakti Village, one of Ladakh’s most scenic and wildlife-rich routes. This region is known for its high-altitude mammals, including Blue Sheep, Ladakh Urial, Red Fox, and occasionally the Eurasian Lynx. Arrive by evening and settle into your guest house. Night at Solpon Guest House or similar. (B/L/D)
Day 4 - Day 6 – Full day in Warila (Shakti Region) - Eurasian Lynx tracking
These days are dedicated to intensive Eurasian Lynx tracking in the remote landscapes of the Warila–Sakti region of Ladakh, one of the most promising habitats for this elusive cat. We focus on early morning and late afternoon field sessions, scanning ridgelines, rocky slopes, and valley systems where Lynx are known to move.
With the support of experienced local trackers, we follow fresh signs such as pugmarks, scat, and movement patterns to increase encounter probability. This is a specialist wildlife photography expedition, requiring patience, fieldcraft, and observation, but rewarding you with rare opportunities to photograph one of the most secretive high-altitude predators. Night at Solpon Guest House or similar. (B/L/D)
Day 7 – Warila to Hanle (Changthang Region)
Post breakfast, begin the long yet stunning drive toward Hanle, passing through Chumathang, Nyoma, and Loma. En route, halt for wildlife sightings and photography across the Changthang landscape — home to Kiang, Tibetan Sand Fox, Pallas’s Cat, Himalayan Wolf and large raptor species. Reach Hanle by evening and check into your warm, cozy homestay. Night at Ruthpa or Padma Homestay (B/L/D)
Day 8 – Full day wildlife tracking in Hanle (Changthang Region)
A dedicated field day in the vast high-altitude plains of Hanle, one of the best regions in Eastern Ladakh for rare Himalayan wildlife sightings and photography. We spend the day scanning open grasslands, riverbeds, and rolling terrain for key species such as the Pallas’s Cat, Tibetan Wolf, and Tibetan Sand Fox.
Field sessions are planned around peak activity hours—early morning and late afternoon—maximizing chances of encounters. With the help of experienced local trackers, we cover multiple vantage points, reading the landscape and animal movement patterns to improve sighting probability. Night at Ruthpa or Padma Homestay (B/L/D)
